Lessons at your pace, in the same automatic car every week, with the same instructor every week. Nothing about it is designed to keep you booking longer than you need to.

Automatic only
Why I only teach automatic
It is the one thing I do, and doing one thing for thirty years is how you get good at it. In Halifax specifically, it is also the easier way to learn.
The hills stop mattering
Halifax is built on a hill and most of the useful junctions are on a slope. No clutch means no hill starts, no stalling, and no rolling back at the lights. In this town that removes the single biggest source of learner panic.
You watch the road, not your feet
Take gear changes out and there is one less thing happening at every junction. Most people I teach are reading the traffic properly weeks earlier than they otherwise would.
It is the way the roads are going
More and more of what is on the forecourt is automatic, electrics included, and they are all automatic. An automatic licence covers those. If that is what you intend to drive, learning in one is the sensible way round.

The route through
Your driving lessons start from the level of your ability
You control the rate of progress: the faster you learn, the sooner the test.

We start wherever you actually are
A brand new driver starts in a quiet area learning basic car control. If you already have some driving skill, you start at that level instead.
We have full permission from air traffic control for take off.

Quiet roads, then left turns, then right
Progressively out onto quiet roads: left turns first, then right turns once those are comfortable. You control the rate of progress: the faster you learn, the sooner the test.
Hopefully any skill you already have didn’t come from Grand Theft Auto.

Busier junctions and higher speeds
Each lesson leads into the next, with skills established for more complex junctions and higher speed driving.
Dual carriageways sound considerably faster than they are. Most of that is the noise.

Everything the test asks for
All the manoeuvres needed for the practical test, emergency stops, the driving test questions, and the independent driving element.
You’ll also learn how to manage road rage rather than cause it, and how to leave all the street furniture still standing at the end.

A brief at the start, a de-brief at the end
Every lesson links to the last one, with a short briefing at the start and a de-brief at the end where any points to focus on get discussed and agreed. A structured approach throughout.
We finish by agreeing what to work on next time. Some weeks that list is shorter than others.
